As seen on Channel 4 – “Great Canal Journeys” when Timothy West and Prunella Scales travelled on Sgarbh during their cruise from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull to Iona.
Walking Iona’s white beaches, fresh lobster, Saint Kilda or an unforgettable painting trip to Barra? Or perhaps just a gentle cruise during a scheduled trip out of the enchanting Loch Crinan passing local islands and wildlife. And if you wish to go further afield, a voyage to or from Tobermory can be done in a day.
The Sgarbh is a beautiful 40 foot classic motor vessel which started her life in 1947 as a local fishing boat chasing the herring. Later she was converted to a motor yacht and restored impeccably to the standards of Lloyds Register A1.
The boat has lived in Crinan and been helmed by the same family for 40 years. Sgarbh is now fully licensed for day and night trips for up to 12 guests, her cruising range (MCA Category 2) covers the entire British isles, including as far offshore as Saint Kilda.
Owner and skipper Ross Ryan grew up aboard the boat and has a long history of cruising the Western Isles. He is also an artist. Ross is happy to tailor an exciting charter to suit your preferences be it an Islay malt whisky cruise to a half day birthday trip or even something more elaborate.
